22 May 2020- IMSA announced a revised schedule for the 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fleet of Stoner Car Care Racing Aston Martins will resume the 2020 IMPC season on July 16-17 at Sebring International Raceway.
The amended schedule will complete the season that got started in January at Daytona International Speedway where Kris Wilson and Gary Ferrera in No. 99 Invisible Glass Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and Rob Ecklin Jr., Ramin Abdolvahabi, and Brandon Kidd in No. 09 Stoner Car Care Aston Martin Vantage GT4 completed the four hour BMW Challenge at Daytona.
The Stoner Car Care Racing lineup expanded its effort in 2020 with a TCR entry piloted by Ben Waddell and AJ Muss in No. 74 Stoner Car Care Hyundai Veloster N TCR. The racing duo led the TCR field on their way to capturing their first top ten finish of the year.
While real world racing may have taken a pause, Stoner Car Care Racing has kept the wheels turning.
Ben Waddell has embraced the simulator and iRacing platform during the halted race season, competing in multiple virtual championships with an Invisible Glass livery. Most recently, Waddell took second in the opening round at Road America of the IMSA iRacing Challenge Series. He will represent Stoner Car Care in the penultimate round of the IMSA iRacing Pro Invitational Series Thursday, May 28th at VIRginia International Raceway.
And while auto enthusiasts have not been able to get out to cars and coffee to celebrate the passion they have for their machines in person, Stoner Car Care has been helping the automotive world show off their machines virtually by partnering with the Buhl Sport Detroit “Cars in Corktown” Digital Edition (https://twitter.com/hashtag/carsincorktownDE?src=hashtag_click).
