Sebring, Fla. (2 March 2020) – Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli opened its 54th season at Sebring International Raceway this weekend.
Driving the No. 22 Stoner Car Care 2014 Aston Martin Vantage, Automatic Racing driver Steven Davison wheeled the around the historic 3.74-mile Florida circuit in two days of practice and qualifying ahead of Sunday’s race.
The 2019 Trans Am GT class champion Davison had an issue with his primary Aston Martin ahead of the race weekend, but he was able to jump into the same Stoner Car Care Racing machine that led the last race of the 2019 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season at Road Atlanta.
Davison took the green flag and battled through 25 laps of multi-class racing on his way to claiming the win to kick off the 2020 Trans Am season.
“I have to thank Automatic Racing, because I broke my car,” Davison said. “So right now I’m on borrowed time, borrowed money and a borrowed car. It’s a great start to the season, I really appreciate Trans Am and the awesome crowd support.”
The Stoner Car Care livery will be back in action in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competition back at Sebring International Raceway March 18th for the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120.
