Our Racing Heritage

In the early 2000's Stoner CEO Rob Ecklin, Jr. attended Skip Barber racing school and needed a place to hone his love of speed and performance. Through a mutual friend, Rob met the folks at the Automatic Racing Team, and a long-lasting friendship and partnership developed.

Automatic Racing Team has been a part of the IMSA circuit since 2002 as a major player in the Grand Sport division. Automatic Racing has earned nearly 20 podium finishes and more than 50 top-ten finishes since their inception. Automatic has a long history of coaching, testing and guiding many young drivers as well as helping new drivers develop and advance their careers.

In 2014 Automatic added two new Aston Martin Vantage GT4s. The Vantages have 4.7 liter V-8 engines that crank out 430 horsepower with a top speed of 175 mph.

The #99 is branded for Stoner Car Care while the #09 is dedicated to Invisible Glass, one of Stoner's leading products.

Strong Pace Out Front for Stoner Car Care Racing at Road Atlanta

Starting on the pole, it was a day of promise for Stoner Car Care Racing fielded by Automatic Racing, as two of the team’s three Aston Martin Vantage GT4s raced to the front of the Fox Factory 120 field at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
